Why Illustrate with AI?

Illustrating an article, a presentation or a LinkedIn post is not a side detail: it increases readability, memorability and engagement.

In a world saturated with content, a relevant image can make the difference between a post that gets read... and one that gets skipped. Yet finding the perfect image, royalty-free, consistent with your graphic charter, relevant to your message, takes time. Too much time.

Generative AI lets you short-circuit this endless search, provided you know how to guide it.

How I work with Sora

With Sora (and sometimes DALL·E), I have established a simple and effective method to get visuals suited to my needs at Auguria. Here are the steps I always follow:

  1. I write a clear summary of what the image should convey.
→ It is the message I want to see translated into an image. No need for a novel, but a strong intention.
  2. I define the dominant colors.
→ Pastel tones for a light subject? Midnight blue + gold for a premium subject? It is up to me to choose.
  3. I describe the expected style.
→ Photo, vector drawing, digital painting, vintage poster style, flat design... AI understands better when given a framework.
  4. I provide example images picked from the internet.
→ They serve as inspiration for style, framing, or mood.

Generally, after 3 to 5 iterations, I get a result that is original, consistent, and far more engaging than a classic stock image.

What Sora can't do yet (and it's a pity)

I will be transparent: not everything is perfect. Here are the limits I currently run into:

  • It is impossible to precisely control the image dimensions.
I want a 1200x628 banner for LinkedIn? Sora gives me whatever format it wants. As a result, I have to tinker afterwards.
  • Generated videos are not yet usable.
Yes, I tried. No, I don't publish them. Too blurry, too strange, sometimes even a bit unsettling.
  • No vector export.
It is impossible today to get an image in .SVG, reusable and animatable. For an agency like ours, it is a real gap.

And what about productivity?

I work a lot (let's say... 14 hours a day on average 😅), and I devote about one hour a day to communication. Needless to say, I am looking for efficiency. Thanks to this method, I save precious time without sacrificing quality or originality.

And you, when will you get started?

Artificial intelligence will not replace good graphic designers, nor ideas.

But it can already save us time, stimulate our creativity, and let us publish memorable content more often.

So, ready to illustrate your ideas with AI?

Or do you still prefer typing “modern business innovation visual blue background” into a hopelessly empty stock image library?
