Training talent is not about looking good in a brochure. It is about delivering projects that hold up, on time, with teams that know where they are going.
This year, we created Odoo Synergie – Network of French-speaking Odoo Integrators. One of our major focuses: training future consultants (functional & technical) and advanced users.
Good news: the ecosystem is already moving in the right direction.
- SUDOKEYS launched a great initiative: POEI – Odoo developer training.
- DataScientest.com offers a program with courses taught by consultants from IROKOO.
- Many consultants teach in schools and universities. For our part, we also teach courses — for example in LEA at the University of Nantes.
Within Odoo Synergie, we believe in pooling (shared course materials, common practical cases, lessons learned) to gain efficiency and quality.
The “training” workstream is led by Dylan Waltzing, supported by Jean-Marc Le Goff and several committed members.
Auguria is particularly involved in this momentum. The association is chaired by Cyrille de Lambert (Auguria).
Why we do it
Because we are professionals, with real recruitment needs and a need for upskilling.
Training is not a veneer. It means ensuring project quality, meeting deadlines, and answering demand that is exploding across the whole Odoo ecosystem.
Operational translation: fewer surprises, more value delivered, calm teams. And customers who sleep at night. So do we, as a result.
Market reality: projections (orders of magnitude)
A small updated projection:
- France: about 550 to 950 Odoo consultants are missing to absorb growth without lengthening lead times (median scenario ≈ 720).
- World: shortfall of ~14,000 to 16,000 profiles (possibly rising toward 20–21k depending on assumptions).
These are orders of magnitude, meant to inform action: they confirm the urgency of accelerating training without sacrificing standards.
Who is this an opportunity for?
- Students: discover a leading ERP, work on real cases, land a first qualifying job.
- Career changers (e.g. logistics director, production director, CFO, IT project manager…): leverage your business expertise by becoming an Odoo consultant.
- Consultants from other solutions (ERP/CRM/BI): transfer your skills and accelerate in a fast-growing ecosystem.
- Advanced users / Key users: step up to co-lead your projects and industrialize your practices.
- Companies: secure your deployments by structuring internal training (onboarding, upskilling, local relays).
What we actually do
In several cities, we meet with universities and schools to:
- map their needs (programs, pace, prerequisites);
- provide instructors and practical cases aligned with the field;
- set up supervised projects, internships, and work-study programs tied to real business challenges.
In parallel, we equip the ecosystem:
- Library of materials (courses, labs, datasets, A/B demos) freely accessible to members;
- Use-case framework (trading, services, production, e-commerce, accounting, logistics);
- Skills framework (junior → experienced → senior) to clarify expectations and career paths;
- “Train fast & well” kit (teaching checklists, assessment grid, internal validation scale).
An approach that respects the fundamentals
We love innovation, but we stay sober: proven methods, classic project practices (scoping, workshops, acceptance), documentation, and knowledge transfer.
Tradition is not a brake; it is the safeguard that prevents slip-ups. Then we iterate.
Lightning FAQ (no jargon)
No. A basic ERP/IT background is enough. We set the prerequisites at the start.
We prepare you for market standards and for our internal validations (project-oriented).
Depending on the path: public schemes (POEI, work-study), sponsorship, company funding, or the standard paid route. We aim for the right cost, not the hidden cost.
Yes, within the Odoo Synergie pooling framework (compatible licenses, attribution, continuous improvement).
Final word
France has strong schools, ambitious companies, and an Odoo ecosystem that is growing fast.
Training more and training better means building a solid, open, and lasting pipeline. We put energy and method into it… and a little humor when the console returns a stack trace on Friday at 6 p.m.
So, shall we get started together?
