When a company launches an ERP project, the question of funding always comes up. Using the available schemes intelligently is a strength… but be careful: each scheme has its rules, its uses, and its limits.
The schemes to know
The training budget
Training teams is essential for successful adoption of any ERP. The training budget (CPF, OPCO, internal training plan) is therefore designed to fund:
- upskilling in the use of Odoo,
- training on the new processes,
- support with adopting the tool day to day.
The training budget must remain strictly reserved for these actions. Diverting this budget to pay for configuration or development exposes you to penalties in the event of an audit.
Digital transformation grants
Digital transformation support schemes (Region, BPI, State, sector-specific subsidies) exist to support large-scale transformation projects:
- company-wide digitalization,
- process modernization,
- overhaul of information systems,
- change management support.
These grants can indeed fund configuration, consulting, integration and support if the project’s goal is a genuine digital transformation, backed by a solid application.
The standard project budget
Everything related to custom development (in-house adaptations, tailor-made connectors, advanced developments) must remain on the standard project budget. You cannot pass everything off under the banner of training or digital transformation.
The risks of misuse
Our recent experience taking over an Odoo project for one of our clients illustrates this:
- The project had been mostly funded from CPF budgets and training grants, whereas 80% of the amounts covered configuration and development.
- During an URSSAF audit, the company had to repay the grants received and was served a social security contribution reassessment.
The training organization involved may also be sanctioned:
- obligation to repay the grants,
- removal from the official catalogs (Qualiopi, CPF, OPCO),
- temporary ban on providing training.
These consequences can jeopardize business continuity, the company’s reputation and its ability to train or recruit.
What to remember
- Each scheme has its purpose:
- Training funds training,
- Digital transformation grants fund digitalization and support,
- Custom development stays on the project budget.
- Compliant use is a guarantee of security: for the company, for its partners, for the ecosystem.
- Auguria’s role is to support you in building robust, secure Odoo projects that are perfectly aligned with the rules in force. We help you put together solid funding applications, adapted to the reality of your project, without taking unnecessary risks.
