On November 20, 2024, Fabien Pinckaers, founder and CEO of Odoo, announced a €500 million investment in the company, valuing Odoo at €5 billion. The operation is led by renowned investors such as CapitalG (Google) and Sequoia Capital, with the participation of Mubadala, AVP and BlackRock.

Recognition of Odoo's business model

This investment underscores investors' confidence in Odoo's innovative business model. Since its creation, Odoo has adopted an "open core" approach, combining an open source Community version and an Enterprise version with additional features. This strategy has allowed Odoo to offer a suite of integrated applications covering various aspects of business management, while benefiting from the contributions of a vast community of developers.

Sustained organic growth

It is important to note that this investment involves no cash injection into the company. Odoo is already profitable, independent and has sufficient cash flow to support rapid organic growth. The operation allows existing investors, such as Summit Partners and the Belgian public funds (WE and Noshaq), to sell around 20% of their shares, realizing a significant capital gain.

Outlook

With this financial and strategic backing, Odoo is well positioned to strengthen its presence in the business management software market. The company plans to expand its product range and increase its market share, while maintaining its commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

This announcement marks an important milestone in Odoo's evolution and demonstrates the strength of its business model and its long-term vision.
