Auguria regularly receives applications from candidates looking for a "project manager" position. As far as we are concerned, we find this term very limiting for the support we must provide to the customer when implementing an Odoo project.
Indeed, the project manager in IT is all too often a mere organizer/go-between in projects. They bring no real added value.
We prefer the term Strategic Odoo Consultant. This term highlights not only the technical and functional expertise on Odoo, but also the strategic aspect of the role, involving planning, decision-making, and managing customer expectations. As a Strategic Consultant, the employee is seen as an essential guide and a key decision-maker in the implementation of Odoo projects, reflecting the multi-faceted nature of this role.
The strategic Odoo consultant is the project's main decision-maker. They wear several hats: they act at the same time as project manager, business analyst and product expert.
- As project manager, they lead the project by:
- defining the project plan and ensuring follow-up
- focusing on the main objectives
- involving the customer's SPoC (Single Point of Contact) on the project
- using the right resources and anticipating risks
- As business analyst and product expert, they keep a lightweight approach by deciding how to implement specific needs:
- challenging customer requests and managing their expectations
- configuring Odoo
- migrating the required data
- writing the specifications (if development is needed)
The strategic Odoo consultant at Auguria is the key point of contact at the customer's side during implementation.
