Last April 5, Odoo unveiled the outline of its upcoming version 19, whose official launch is planned for Odoo Experience 2025, September 18 to 20 in Brussels (Brussels Expo).
This update is by no means a revolution, but it illustrates a controlled and resolutely pragmatic evolution. The goal? Consolidate what exists while improving ergonomics, consistency and performance across the whole functional scope. At Auguria, we welcome this approach focused on practical value and the real needs of end users.
A user-oriented update
With Odoo 19, the publisher confirms its determination to strengthen every building block of the ERP, whether the web front end, logistics, finance or HR tools. The roadmap gives a clear vision: save time, limit unnecessary manual operations, and improve functional readability. The emphasis is also on Artificial Intelligence, which becomes a cross-cutting pillar.
Web & eCommerce
- New dynamic snippet options (including product card variations).
- Complete overhaul of the purchase journey (cart, payment, wishlist, comparison tool).
- Adaptive design, better theme management, and layout selection from onboarding.
- Planned integrations with Google Merchant Center & Gelato (print-on-demand).
- SEO optimizations (URL structure, pagination, microdata, accessibility).
Result: a more flexible front office, faster to deploy and better connected to merchant channels
Logistics & Manufacturing
- Overhaul of units of measure (UoM) and packaging: started in v18.1 (Online), generalized and refined in v19 with a unified model (categories removed).
- Support for nested packages (pack-in-pack) with tracking via Odoo sequence or barcode.
- Improved inter-company transfers, replenishment and availability widget.
- New Shop Floor ergonomics with card-based instructions, direct actions without popups.
- Rethought manufacturing orders with flexible states and contextual actions.
A real step up in maturity for complex flows and industrial management.
Accounting & Finance
- New bank reconciliation usable on mobile.
- Pre-configuration of localized profit and loss accounts with an intelligent search engine.
- Improvements to SEPA, PEPPOL, bank synchronization (Ponto), and statement generation.
- Handling of mixed expenses, automatic follow-ups, customer tracking and lightweight audit trail.
- Better UX on PDFs, annual statements, tax returns, etc.
More modern, mobile and interoperable accounting, without sacrificing legal rigor.
Human resources, project management and services
- Merge of the employee and contract records for greater consistency.
- Improved handling of overtime (duration, rate, payment).
- Project planning by template, task assignment by role, calendar tracking.
- Enriched Helpdesk tickets (mail alias, tag management, forwarded attachments).
- Field tracking: deadlines, to-dos, geolocation via timer, etc.
Tools better suited to multi-service environments or growing companies.
Artificial intelligence and automation
- Server actions enriched by intelligent text prompts.
- AI suggestions for Studio fields or custom properties.
- Built-in conversational assistant (agents, simple actions, automatic replies).
- Seamless integration in the chatter, the editor and forms.
An AI that is omnipresent but not intrusive, which eases configuration, speeds up tasks and gives users concrete suggestions.
A clearer industry vision
The roadmap introduces a clear intention to move toward industry-specific logic. It features ready-to-use usage scenarios for activities such as microbreweries, marketing agencies, food trucks, law firms, craftsmen, associations/memberships, real estate, veterinarians, and more.
This translates into:
- Flow templates adapted to each trade.
- Better-designed module packs.
- Better interconnection between modules (e.g. membership + CRM + subscription).
One more step toward effective verticalization, without closing the door on customization.
What this changes for our customers
At Auguria, we see this version as a discreet but fundamental turning point.
By choosing to improve what exists rather than multiply new features, Odoo reinforces its positioning as a robust, scalable and business-centric platform.
We are ready to support our customers with:
- impact analysis,
- migration planning,
- and the gradual integration of these new features, as soon as the version is available in production.
In short: Odoo 19 does not reinvent the wheel, but it makes it smoother, more connected and smarter.
One more step toward effective verticalization, without closing the door on customization.
