Coffee Break: Odoo Users Talk Shop at Auguria

Auguria News

As an Odoo integrator, we naturally chose the Odoo application suite to support our own business. On the one hand, the tool fully meets our needs; on the other, it makes perfect sense to use software we recommend to our own customers! I took advantage of a coffee break to put a few questions to members of the Auguria team and find out what they like about Odoo day to day. Here is their feedback, non-exhaustive and gathered spontaneously.

Whether they are developers, salespeople or consultants, everyone agrees on how simple and easy Odoo is to use. “What I like is that the ergonomics of the modules are always the same. That makes it much easier to use.” For the most recent arrivals, getting to grips with the tool is a real plus. “You get familiar with the tool very quickly.” The fact that all modules are integrated is a much-appreciated advantage, because it gives access, within a single tool, to a set of features covering most of a company's needs.

For salespeople, the CRM module is one of the tool's strengths. “The CRM gives me simplified tracking of each opportunity and operational visibility on the actions to take as well as on the likelihood of signing. The linked Sales module lets me track the proposals I have made. Turning a quotation into an order immediately triggers the next steps. It is then possible to create the project directly from the order and to monitor it operationally. The analytic account linked to each project gives me precise financial tracking that takes into account invoices issued, invoices received and time spent.”

Simplifying tasks is a recurring theme in the comments we collected. Whether in accounting, where Odoo greatly limits the entry of journal entries because sales and purchase invoices are allocated automatically, or in HR, with automated recruitment management (in the same way as lead management for salespeople). “My job postings are published directly on our website from the Recruitment module and I am notified whenever an application is received. I can then organize the follow-up of applications, as in a CRM, and automatically generate reply emails. It saves a considerable amount of time.”

Others highlight strengths they would now find hard to do without: “the data import features in Odoo are very powerful compared with other tools. Our customers also appreciate the real autonomy they provide. The export options are impressive too, since you have access to all fields whatever the domain.” With Odoo, going paperless is just one step away. “With the Documents module, which provides a document management system (DMS) for documents handled in the ERP, and the features for sending documents by email (invoices, for example), going paperless at Auguria is very easy!”

Developers are not left out. “Developing in Odoo lets you structure your code in each module with the MVC architecture, so you keep your code structured and clean.” “For me, Odoo is the best framework in terms of speed and flexibility that I have used so far.” The very large community of Odoo developers is also an undeniable advantage: “you are never left alone facing bugs or technical problems.”

I will stop the flow of comments there, pleased to see that Odoo users at Auguria are spontaneously positive about the solution we sell to our customers. Of course, had I asked them for negative points, they would have found some. The perfect tool does not exist. But everyone agrees that the product is impressive. After all, it is no accident that the publisher quickly established itself among the big names in the market.
