The need
You sell tasks (a service, a package, days of work), not time: what matters to the customer is the task delivered. Internally, time must still be allocated on the order to the collaborators who perform it, without typing it again.
What you gain
Each service product carries its allocated hours per unit sold.
The task created receives the hours per unit multiplied by the ordered quantity.
A percentage per template task spreads the hours between the tasks of a project.
An order action recomputes the allocated time of all its tasks.
Scope
It handles the time allocated to tasks created from service lines: the customer buys tasks and allocated time stays an internal planning tool. Timesheet follow-up stays the one of Odoo.
